The news has been very Spanish lately and for all the wrong reasons. Nightset doesn’t do politics – we believe the solution to most problems is to go out, have a great time with people from all over the world and make new friends. With that in mind, we thought it’s time we highlighted some of the best Spanish bars and restaurants in town as they all have one thing in common: Fun people and great times.
This old stalwart always has a warm vibe. On a hot summer’s day it’s a great place to take a bunch of mates and drink ice cold beer in the always sunny courtyard. On a rainy day it seems to attract all of Kings Cross’s most buzzy crowd in from getting wet in the main (big) bar and all year round their restaurant keeps people fed with delicious Spanish cuisine. This is what we love about this place – you can go there for a fun date night or equally a lad’s (or girls) night out . Even with the new bars and places opening up at the new development by the station at St Pancras, this is still one of the best places in that part of London to hang out.
2) Bradley’s Spanish Bar
Another secret gem with a typically random London name. We don’t know who Bradley is but this place definitely is a meeting place for Spanish folks from all over. In a seemingly small backstreet off Oxford Street, Bradleys appears to be a cross between the sort of bars you find off Las Ramblas in Barcelona and an English pub. That’s where any similarity ends. This place has a very unique friendly Latin vibe and the downstairs bar, which is small and intimate goes crazy towards the weekend. You WILL meet new people in Bradleys. It’s impossible not to. It also has a late license, so you don’t have to run off at 11pm. If you like Spanish beer, you will find a big selection here including the rather hard to find but delicious Estrella Galicia.
3) Sevilla Mia
What is it with Spanish venues in London being in small doorways? We like it as again, it reminds us of the real bars and little clubs that litter most Spanish cities. It’s authentic. Sevilla Mia is another great little Spanish gem in London. Its cool, casual, relaxed and friendly and it’s a place to go with a small group ideally. Would we take a hot date here? Yes, it’s cool and fun enough to work for that as well. Great food, live music which really adds to the vibe and just one word . Friendly. Really Friendly. Vamos!
