Bar Américain at Brasserie Zédel

Bar Américain at Brasserie Zédel is a really excellent choice for a date. The atmosphere is perfect, and you’ll be able to actually hear each other talk without it feeling oppressive. The cocktails are straightforward and classic, there will definitely be something you like. But what makes Bar Americain a truly show stopping place for a date is the decor. Think Great Gatsby but less gaudy. Walk your date down the spiral staircase in to a perfectly lit cream atrium, complete with sky-high ceilings, beautiful chandeliers and carefully placed booths. If you fancy a little dutch courage before dinner (or just drinks), take a detour in to an intimate and reasonably priced bar to your right.

There's only one way to cool down and that's with ice, lucky for you we have plenty, in various forms. pic.twitter.com/UYShrmMhHv

Get to know your date’s competitive side at bounce. This bar is a, frankly, inspired combination of drinking and casual sports. Impress them with some mad ping pong skills or be charming and let them win. It’s a win win for you either way really. This venue is sure to be fun and is a guaranteed way to diffuse any awkwardness – like it was made for dates.

This venue will have your date Nightsetting and instagramming like mad. Blow their mind with beautiful floral garnishes and generally gorgeous cocktails. Make a not so subtle point and order off the ‘Lust’ section of the menu. We’d recommend ordering the ‘Oyster Lunch’, a mix of Mr Lyan Cream-distilled Gin, blue flax, raspberry and sparkling wine. Plus, the interior is JUST gorgeous. Everyone’s better looking in Dandelyan by association.

Impress your date with some historical trivia in the best way possible: with Nightjar’s incredible cocktails. They’re sorted in to different eras, like prohibition and post-war and really, these cocktails are good. The presentation of the sharing cocktails, in particular the Artillery Punch and the Alchemists Brew which will really make this date stand out.

Cuddle up to your date in the Ice Bar. This is another stand out pick, and is sure to have your date chatting about you to all their mates. This bar is pretty much what it says on the tin – entirely made of ice and serving some brilliant cocktails. However, the atmosphere is also particularly good for dates, and theirs plenty of places to cosy up if things go well.
